These S’Mores Bars are a super easy sweet treat that are just like baked cookie bars.
They have all of the great components of a S’More: graham crackers, marshmallow and chocolate. Brooks (RecipeBoy) first made these S’Mores Bars way back in 2011 when he was just 11 years old. So if an 11-year old can make them, I’d say anyone can make them. I’ve updated the photos, and I’ve added a how-to video too.
They’re good dessert bars to put out at a party. And as Brooks described them so many years ago, they get devoured immediately because everyone loves them so much!
How to make S’Mores Bars:
Start with making a graham cracker cookie crust (made of flour, graham cracker crumbs, baking powder, salt, butter, brown sugar and eggs). You’re going to divide the dough for the crust in half.
Pat half of the crust into a 9×13-inch pan. Save the rest of the graham cracker cookie dough for the top of the bars.
Place large but evenly spaced scoops of Marshmallow Creme on the crust. Then spread it around to cover the crust.
Sprinkle milk chocolate chips on top.
Put the remaining cookie dough on top. Just crumble the dough with your hands and sprinkle it on top. You don’t need to cover the top. The marshmallow and chocolate chips will peek out here and there.
Bake it, and eat the results… which turn out to be really gooey and yummy. If you want to make S’Mores that are portable, you should make a batch of these. They turn out really well and they’re perfect for any occasion.
Here are a few items you can buy on Amazon that you can use for this recipe:
(Amazon affiliate links are included here)
- 9×13-inch pan: I like this one. It’s a good nonstick pan with good reviews. And it has a lid for easy storage of your baked goods!
- Marshmallow Creme: a 7-ounce jar has about 2 1/2 cups, so you’ll just need one jar.
- graham cracker crumbs
- chocolate chips
If a kid can make these bars, you can too!
Here are a few more S’Mores treats you might like to try:
- S’Mores Pie
- Cookie Dough S’Mores
- S’Mores Popcorn Balls
- Raspberry Nutella S’Mores
- Chocolate Caramel S’Mores
- Frozen S’More Sandwiches
- No Bake S’Mores Cheesecake Bars
- S’Mores Dip
This is another winner, Brooks! What kid doesn’t love smores?! And when baked into one gorgeous gooey mess – well, it’s bound to be a crowd-pleaser.
I love S’mores, but these bars look even better! Nice job!
OMG, these look gooey and amazing! I’ve gotta try these, I love Smores.
Looks like another yummy recipe and no campfire needed. Love it and will try it this weekend!
Keep the the fun blog.

Awesomeness! These will be a perfect dessert after a lovely rice curry bowl! I don’t know why, I just think they would! 😀
What an awesome idea!! Must try it this weekend. Tx! 🙂
I think I might add some carmel with the chocolate chips…that woudl make this even gooier!
Looks way to yummy.. wow really looks good.
If you want to make the top a full crust, you can press plastic wrap in the bottom of another pan (that matches the one you are using) and press the crust into it. It’s so buttery, when you remove it from the pan, the crust clings to the plastic wrap. Then you can lay it over the marshmallow and chocolate layer. Yours look amazing!!!
Just found your blog! This recipe looks so delicious!
hey there –
You have done it again! These look terrific, and I have no doubt that my son will love them – thanks for sharing this yummy treat!
Thanks for sharing your yummy recipies with us, Recipe Boy! Can’t wait to try these. They look delicious! 🙂
Wonderful recipe! My niece picked it out to make and they were super yummy 🙂 I did half chocolate chips and then the other side with peanut butter chips. Super yumminess!
These were a HUGE success! Took them to a party and have lots of ladies at my church asking for the recipe. Good oooey gooeyness!
Wow these S’more bars look amazing. I will see if Charlie wants to make them. I’m afraid that I will gain 50 pounds though if she does make them.
Great Job!
These look so yummy! I am making them soon!

Yum!!!!
made recipe yesterday.
soooooo…. good!
though it was almost impossible to put on the marshmellow creme.
🙂
I agree!!! The marshmallow creme was the hardest part! So hard to spread!
@Lindsey, I was going to ask if mini marshmallows wold work instead!
@Lisa J, Mini marshmallows work great! I’ve made this several times with them and they always turn out well. Hope you enjoyed them!
These are incredible!!!!
These are fantastic! If you like smores you will love these. Keep posting your great recipes!
Can you use marshmallows instead of fluff ?
Haven’t tried it with marshmallows!
A hit! Made these for a camping themed bridal shower and they are so good! Definitely making again. A few recommendations: 1) someone mentioned spreading the marshmallow creme was difficult. If you keep your hands wet you should be able to spread it with your fingers easily. 2) I plan to add a little extra marshmallow creme or mini’s next time. 3) the recipe doesn’t specify on ‘graham cracker crumbs’ – I did a full 2 cups of graham crackers ground in a food processor and it was perfect. 4) If you’re baking at high altitude bake at 15 degrees higher (365 deg F) for the exact 30 min. 5) Try a mixture of chocolate and caramel or peanut butter chips.
Can’t get the marshmallow Creme…..would it work with mini marshmallows?
We haven’t tried them using mini marshmallows, so not sure.
These are something special! I have gotten many compliments. Smore’s are my favorite treat, and this recipe does them justice!
I like to bake goodies ahead and freeze them – anyone made these and frozen them? Any issues?
We freeze things too, but I’m not sure how well these would freeze with the marshmallows on them.
These do look delicious! Can these be made the night before and still be good or prepared night before and store in fridge till next day to cook before a party?
Should be!
Made these the other day, they were fantastic. Everyone loved them!! Yum. Thanks.
I made these bars for my husband to take to work to share. He said everyone lost their minds over them, lol. They absolutely loved them! They are asking when I am going to make more 🙂
Thanks for this simple, delicious recipe!
I made these for our grandchild to take back to college. I don’t care for s’mores so tried these only because one bar broke apart. Big surprise for us! They are delicious. I found the dough was hard to spread for first layer even when I oiled my fingers. Second time, I used slightly more for bottom layer and dropped spoonfuls over top and they were just as good. These are a great alternative to the usual brownies.
Were delicious but didnt taste like smores
Absolutely amazing, yummy bars! So glad I tried these!
Seems like half of my marshmallow cream disappeared into the cookie or something?? Not sure what I would have done wrong?
Can I freeze the baked bars?
You should be able to!
I made these for Youth Group and they were very good, everybody loved them. I doubled the recipe and used a sheet pan on parchment paper and mini marshmallows instead of marshmallow cream and they were great thanks for sharing!
