Peanut Butter- Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Peanut butter? AND Chocolate? This may be one of the best combinations in food history! That’s why I made the glorious Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Pancakes.
Heaven. All you need is a fork to eat that heaven, too. Syrup dripping down the four story yum-cake. (a combo between yummy and pancake!) ๐
A funny story is that my mom developed this recipe and had just jotted down the ingredients but not the directions of this recipe, and then she left the room. Unfortunately, I tried to make the recipe with no directions, and when my mom came back in the room, I had a pancake on the stove already! Only problem, I hadn’t added enough vanilla, I had omitted the egg and had added the whole bag of chocolate chips. ๐
I started over. ย Now I learned my lesson and gently sprinkled a FEW chocolate chips on the batter.
The pancakes turned out light and fluffy but not the fall apart kind of fluffy. Just firm but light.
Those of you wondering, I was taking the pictures in this photo and my mom was drizzling the syrup. She’s a pro!
After this delicious breakfast, I seriously did not want to eat any more chocolate for the next two weeks! Lesson learned. A little chocolate chips is better than a lot.
Yummy!!! Look at the look of bliss on my face. Pure joy. I want to dedicate this post to my Grandma, who just got out of the hospital from lower back surgery. She was not able to try this recipe because of her gluten-free diet but I still love her and wish her well.
The Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Pancakes tasted AWESOME! They had a rich chocolaty inside and a warm syrupy outside. On any day, make this recipe because it is perfect for any weather. Hmmm. I think the only thing left to wonder about is how many calories this has!
And even a kid can make a short stack of Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Pancakes with warm syrup that looks exactly the kind of pictures that you see in commercials…. Like Me!
Peanut Butter- Chocolate Chip Pancakes
I made this as a special breakfast for my Mom and me ๐

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
1 tablespoon packed light brown sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk
1/4 cup crunchy peanut butter
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
handful of chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate)
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugars, baking powder and salt. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, peanut butter, egg and vanilla. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until all is combined.
2. Preheat a skillet to medium and spray with nonstick spray. Scoop 1/2 cup of batter onto the skillet and sprinkle the pancake with several chocolate chips. Reduce the heat to medium-low and watch the pancake. When bubbles begin popping and forming in the center of the pancake, wiggle a spatula underneath and gently flip it over. Cook the other side for a minute or so until both sides are a nice, golden brown. Repeat with the rest of the batter and chocolate chips. Serve with warm maple syrup.

You can’t go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate… even if you overdo it on the chocolate chips ;). The pancakes look fantastic, and I would totally make a stack if I hadn’t just scarfed down a big bowl of pumpkin oatmeal!
Can I have some please!!!
๐
This looks perfect for breakfast this morning!! LOL pouring the entire bag of chocolate chips sounds like something I would do for sure…. I love the combo though ๐
Those look like perfect pancakes! Cooking is always about learning as you go! Well done, Recipe Boy!
These look amazing! I love chocolate chip pancakes but I’ve never tried adding peanut butter…sounds delicious! ๐
Breakfast perfection!
Am I missing the recipe? I don’t see it.
Yes! That’s because “MOM” forgot to add it in when she read it over. OOPS!
Hey RecipeBoy!
Apparently, I picked the wrong Saturday to fly a Red Eye to the East Coast! Missed your Sunday Morning surprise! I hope you choose to remake these awesome-sounding/looking pancakes soon. Hmmmm…doesn’t someone in the house have a Birthday this weekend?
Love, Dad
Seriously do I need to get hungry at 4am. I shouldnt read a recipe at this hour. Special a good one like this. ๐
“Especially” good grief I cant spell at this hour either. lol
YUM!! I’m seriously in love!! With the pancakes, I mean. ๐
Made this a few hours ago. My man is hooked. He was jonesing for the version of these made by the local diner, but the outside temp is a bunch below zero today. I Googled, found your recipe and gave it a shot. He especially loves that they turned out good and dense. I thought I’d messed up thinking “pancakes = fluffy”, right? He’s thrilled, so no questions. ๐
These are so unbelievably awesome. I’ve tried a lot of pancake recipes in my life, and these are number 1! Sometimes I leave out the chocolate chips (because I’ve eaten them all), and they make a great basic pancake that can be topped with fruit stuff and all that jazz. Thanks so much for posting this!
Great recipe! I only keep creamy PB on hand & it provided a great subtle flavor. LOVE how fluffy these are, too. Thanks for sharing.
I wanted to make something special this morning for my little girls 7th birthday. I came across this recipe and was immediately in the kitchen! These turned out INCREDIBLE! Everyone in the house loved them. I will definitely be making this again. Thank you ๐
I tried this for Christmas breakfast. They were absolutely amazing. I used the batter to make waffles and they were so good. I’m making them again this morning. Not a big peanut butter fan but I am definitely hooked to these. Thanks for the great recipe!
These were AMAZING!!!! I could only taste a hint of peanut butter though so I may add more next time.
I’ve been wanting to make peanut butter pancakes for awhile now. Found your recipe and made them this morning. They turned out great! Thanks.
