Here’s an easy recipe for S’Mores Pie, complete with graham cracker crust, chocolate filling and toasted marshmallows. It’s an amazing chocolate pie!
This recipe was originally published by RecipeBoy Brooks in 2011 when he was ten years old. He had entered it in our community’s pie contest, and he earned a 3rd place ribbon for this S’Mores Pie! Brooks loved making pies. He has made a Snickers Pie, Twix Bar Cheesecake Pie and a Nutella Pie too. I love that I taught my son how to make pies!
Ingredients needed:
- graham cracker crumbs
- salted butter
- miniature chocolate chips
- heavy whipping cream
- whole milk
- Hershey’s Chocolate Bars
- salt
- eggs
- mini marshmallows
How to make a S’Mores Pie:
The complete, printable recipe is at the end of this post.
The first step is making the crust. Combine the graham cracker crumbs, butter and chocolate chips, and press the crust mixture into the pie plate. Bake it for 10 minutes at 325 degrees F, and then let it cool.
The next step is making the chocolate filling. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cream and milk. Warm over medium-low heat. Add in the chocolate and stir until the chocolate has melted. Add a pinch of salt. Whisk the mixture together until it is smooth and combined well. Set the chocolate mixture aside to cool for 15 minutes. In a medium bowl, whisk the 2 eggs. Whisking those eggs constantly, add a spoonful of the chocolate mixture. Still whisking, add another spoonful. Keep doing this with several spoonfuls until you’ve gently warmed up your eggs. At this point, you can add the rest of the chocolate mixture and whisk it all together. Pour the filling into the cooled crust.
Bake the pie for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the chocolate filling is set and does not jiggle when the pie pan is lightly shaken. Check the pie at 20 minutes- if the edges of the crust are browning too quickly, lightly tent a piece of foil over the top of the pie (not touching the filling), or set a pie crust shield on top of the pie. Remove from the oven when filling is set.
Apparently, the judges liked this S’Mores pie because Brooks got 3rd place. He thinks he would have gotten 1st if he had been able to serve it warm because of the gooey marshmallows. Thanks to How Sweet It Is for the inspiration for this pie. And now you need to bake a S’mores pie too. Enjoy!
If you’re a fan of s’mores, you will most definitely enjoy making S’Mores Bars, S’Mores Milkshakes, Easy S’Mores Dip and S’Mores Cheesecake.
